Wynnestay, considered to be Philadelphia's oldest existing private residence, was built on the property of Dr Thomas Wynne, William Penn's personal physician and Speaker in 1683 of the first Provincial Assembly of Pennsylvania.

Wynnestay's landscaped grounds and gracious rooms welcome historians, architects, physicians, persons of Welsh or Society of Friends heritage, and all other interested persons who wish to step back 300 years into the past.
